I signed up for a promo that ran yesterday, a bunch of us authors giving away free or reduced copies of our books, and Amazon tells me over 400 people wanted a copy of the first book in my epic fantasy series, Wreckers Gate. (Book 5, Oblivion’s Grasp, is about to hit the shelves.)
Wow! Zowee even! I’m used to books flying off the shelves to the tune of 1 or 2 a month. I don’t know how to act. This is all new territory for me.
Now, of course I’d like to make a living as an author, but mostly I just want people to read my stories. I put a lot of time and even love into those things and it’s just not complete without someone reading the end result.
This really feels good.
I guess I’ll be running more promos in the future. Of course, there’s no reason to wait. You can literally buy copies for a penny every day with name your own price.
